Many of you dont know this but.... . We met July 11, 2015 and I went home with him on April 30, 2016. After knowing him for 9 months we were getting hitched and a chicken was clucking at my head. . When Tao walked into my life, I realized that it is possible to love a stranger the same way I love my own family that I was birthed into. . But even then, I didn't want to let go of my independence due to the Hmong culture of women oppression, I didn't want to legally get married till I was ready. . So even after a Hmong wedding, hu plig, ki tes, & American white dress wedding... I wouldn't go to the courtroom. . On Dec 12, 2019... we finally did it. I signed my name and married the love of my life legally. (But I did keep my last name because it was important to hold onto a piece of my independence.) . Happy birthday to this wonderful man. . . What are your thoughts on keeping your maiden last name after marriage? Did you or did you not take your spouses last name? . . . . 📸: @shipple cause she da best! . . . . . . . . . . . #hmong #hmongfood #thaifood #laofood #thaicuisine #laocuisine #foodstagramming #foodstagrammer #foodandtravel #foodandcuisines #614food #cbusfoodscene #cbusfoodbloggers #cbusfoodie #foodbloggerlife #travelandfood #travelingchef #travelfoodie #noodsnoodsnoods #noodles🍜 #ilovenoodles #noodleslover #foodblogeats #ohiofood #foodporndaily #foodiefeature #sixonefork
